PROGRAMS>ACTION>WATER>>

YOJAK has done various experiments in rainwater harvesting. These experiments are done in areas facing acute scarcity of drinking water. Continuous contour trenching, Check dam construction, rooftop rainwater harvesting, ferrocement tank construction are some of the techniques used to ensure sustained water supply to needy affected communities. The projects were mainly run in Rambaug village of Thane district (Now Palghar district) and wangni village of Pune district.

YOJAK now trains & guides village youth on these techniques and helps them to execute these simple ideas to improve water availability in theie areas.

Some of the rainwater harvesting tested techniques;

Check dam construction (village Rambaug) | CCT work village Rambaug (2006-2008)

Check dam after first rain in Rambaug | Tree plantatin on CCT to reduce soil erosion

Rooftop rainwater collected in ferrocement tank at village Wangni (2008 to 2010)
